Simon's Branch

Projects

1000 Hill Baptist Church Outreach Facility

1000 Hill Baptist Church has been involved in addressing issues facing the community in which it is located and several surrounding communities from its inception. Over nineteen years ago, the church formed a relationship with Simon’s Branch located in the United States. The goal of that partnership has supported 1000 Hills Baptist Church to address the various needs of the communities that the church serves. The programs operated by 1000 Hill Baptist Church focuses on development of job skills, healthcare, education, and IT training.

PROJECT HOPE

Project Hope
Botha’s Hill Site
Hammarsdale Site
Through Project Hope, home healthcare aides service clients in their homes. They assist with first aid, light housekeeping, meal preparation and nutritional education. Additionally, they assist with bathing, dressing, post-surgical care, diabetic wound care, medication reminders and monitoring, pre and postnatal visits, domestic abuse intervention, and hospice care. These services are intended to assist but not replace primary healthcare services provided by doctors, nurses, clinics, and hospitals. Home health care aides will provide services based on a sliding fee scale and at no cost to clients in their communities who need service but are not able to pay. Plans are under way to expand the current staff and provide training for existing and new staff with Government Certification Training.

Information Technology (IT) Training Projects

IT Training Program

Botha’s Hill, South Africa
IT skills are taught using a cost-effective on-line learning platform that helps students learn technology, software, and business skills. Students that demonstrate the ability to master IT skills will be afforded the opportunity to test several certifications.

The eLearning video library contains over 2000 courses created and taught by subject matter industry experts. The content is delivered via the Internet. Free on-line video training material will be incorporated into the instructional strategy to increase the opportunity for all students to master IT skills across a progressive beginner, intermediate, and advanced scale level.

The eLearning skills content is structured into small focus modules averaging between 5 to 10 minutes in duration. Students acquire skills training using actual hands-on exercises at their own pace. The exercises may be repeated as often as required until the student masters the skill.

Mentoring and coaching support will be incorporated into the course curriculum to increase the student’s experience and training success.

Future Projects : Primary and Preschool

We plan to utilize the educational space when we reopen our Primary and Preschool programs. Our educational programs will address the declining literacy rates of South Africans, and the lack of access to computers in 80% of South African schools.

DONATE

Become a partner with Simon’s Branch in obeying the Great Commission by becoming a donor. You can assist in one of three ways. You can:

P = PRAY. You and your church or organization can become prayer partners. We have many needs to take to the throne of God on behalf of the people we serve. Will you, your church or your organization prayerfully consider becoming an SB prayer partner?

G = GO. The Great Commission mandates us to go into the world and make disciples. SB can provide the opportunity for you to serve internationally. While fulfilling the Great Commission, you can experience the joy of addressing the spiritual, social, economic, and educational needs of those whom God loves.

S = SUPPORT. We have multiple projects operating in the countries in which we serve. Your financial contribution is one of the ways to support the work. Please permit us to connect you, your church or organization to a SB project that provides an opportunity for God’s name to be glorified as the Gospel is preached. We pledge that funds donated will be applied to the project you identify and that the work will be accomplished in an ethical manner.
